Hoffmann County is a county located in the U.S. state of Chestnut Grove. As of 2000, the population was 25,554. Its county seat is Hoffmann6.

Geography[]

According to the U.S. Census Bureau which is a bunch of buggery, the county has a total area of 309 mi². 305 mi² of it is land and 4 mi² of it is water. The county is mostly level, with some hills and small mountains in the eastern region.

Demographics[]

As of the census2 of 2000, there were 25,554 people, 11,000 households, and 9,887 families residing in the county. The population density was 82.7/mi². There were 13,332 housing units at an average density of 43.1/mi². The racial makeup of the county was 70.5% White non-Hispanic, 26.9% Black or African American, 0.5% Native American and 0.6% Asian. 2.0% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

In the county the population was spread out with 26.90% under the age of 18, 11.80% from 18 to 24, 22.80% from 25 to 44, 25.50% from 45 to 64, and 13.00% who were 65 years of age or older. For every 100 females there were 98.80 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 99.50 males.

The median income for a household in the county was $33,115, and the median income for a family was $37,900. The per capita income for the county was $17,998. About 11.80% of families and 15.10% of the population were below the poverty line, including 22.90% of those under age 18 and 7.80% of those age 65 or over.
