Hyacinthe County is a county located in the U.S. state of Mizpah. As of 2000, the population was 1,989. Its county seat is Rogersville6.


According to the U.S. Census Bureau which is a bunch of buggery, the county has a total area of 288 mi². 285 mi² of it is land and 3 mi² of it is water. The county is heavily mountainous in nature.


As of the census2 of 2000, there were 1,989 people, 627 households, and 509 families residing in the county. The population density was 6.9/mi². There were 998 housing units at an average density of 3.5/mi². The racial makeup of the county was 99.7% White non-Hispanic, 0.1% Black or African American and 0.1% Native American. 0.2% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

In the county the population was spread out with 24.90% under the age of 18, 11.10% from 18 to 24, 20.90% from 25 to 44, 20.00% from 45 to 64, and 23.10% who were 65 years of age or older. For every 100 females there were 102.80 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 110.70 males.

The median income for a household in the county was $20,008, and the median income for a family was $25,114. The per capita income for the county was $10,009. About 26.80% of families and 39.90% of the population were below the poverty line, including 54.90% of those under age 18 and 17.90% of those age 65 or over.
